Untitled Formation

Untitled Formation is set of sculptural creations made from canvas that has been hardened over time from usage. Making these ignited my interest in architecture as I looked for how human-scale could be incorporated into the pieces. In university, I had the pleasure and privilege of listening to architects such as Rem Koolhaas and Zaha Hadid present their highly theoretical designs, and also had the opportunity to meet Frank Gehry, whose work was more relatable, as they were built structures. Could my little studies be of such use? Day-dreams aside, I think these photographs are reminiscent of my interest in malleable space that doesn’t need to take the form of an egg nor insect. How these would be constructed would be an interesting engineering challenge.
